Something went wrong - login error

Using a Garmin Outlander, trying to log into the Explore app. It keeps saying "something went wrong try again"

I've updated software, restarted unit, tried different accounts, tried different wifi networks, nothing seems to work. I can login to the exploer website but not on the unit.

  • I would recommend trying to do a master reset for the device if you are able to log in everywhere else. You will want to backup your data first to make sure you do not lose anything important. Backing up, Restoring, or Transferring Saved Data on Garmin Automotive Devices.

    Note: A master reset will erase all favorites2 and will restore your device to the default factory settings.

    To perform a factory data reset:

    1. Open the device's Settings menu
    2. Touch Device Reset
    3. Touch Factory data reset
    4. Touch Reset Device
    5. Touch Erase Everything

    The device will now be reset. Follow the on-screen prompts, then place the device in an area with a clear view of the sky until it acquires satellites.

    2Although the master reset will erase all saved favorites, any loaded custom points of interest will remain intact on the device.
