Sync issues of Quatix 5 and Explore

Waypoints and courses created on Explore/Android will not sync to my Garmin Quatix 5.
The watch syncs perfectly with Garmin Connect app though (pairing works fine).
I have tried multiple ways to fix this including:
1. Unpairing and re-pairing. I also did "deep unpair" through erasure of cached data of the native Bluetooth connectivity app.
2. Factory reset of Garmin.
3. Removal and re-installation of both Explore and Connect on Android.
4. Syncing "Everything" or "Selection" alternatively.
5. Creating several selections, and switching between them.
I should also mention that pairing Explore and my Garmin did work a couple of times previously. I haven't used explore for a while, and now this is not functioning anymore.
Any help or insight is appreciated.
