Support for fit file courses

Would love to see support for fit file courses. There is no offline solution for this (Gimporter need internet connection) and my watch (forerunner 945) works best with fit courses who aren't imported/touched with/by garmin connect.

  • Why this is not supported? Because Explore can synchronises Fit courses from my watch to Explore.

  • Argh I know, right? You want to get a trail course file into the watch with your coursepoints and not what GC thinks are turns. The only way to get FIT courses to the watch is over the charging cable, dropping them into Newfiles folder. Maybe with the right USB adapter for your phone maybe you can transfer them that way in the field if that's what you mean by "offline".

  • Yes I know I can drop them in the newfiles folder, but sometimes Android screw things up. With "offline" I mean without the need of an internet connection.

I was also having a similar problem. Looking for a possible solution.

  • I am also searching for a solution for that. With explore 3.0 app, they addes 'courses', besides tracks and routes. But it keeps telling me i cannot sync courses unless i update the firmware on my fenix 6x, although there is no firmware update available....

But maybe they are at least preparing the feature. Fingers crossed...

Is it stiil not supported with it? I want to know about it. Thanks

  • With firmware 20.30 and Garmin Explore 3.0 you can sync courses without an internet connection. But only courses that you created in Explore. You cannot import fit files to Explore unfortunately. But course planning in the app works okay.
