I don't know if it helped at all that I wrote this here and also submitted it to the Garmin Feedback as suggested by one of you below... but lo and behold, yesterday I received an update to the app and the main change was that Garmin had included the very feature I asked for! 
So now one can make something like this for one's social media:

so in Garmin Connect, one can save a photo for social media with overlaid stats, kind of like this:
No, I’m not a fast runner ;) but tenacious… but, my point is; This does not seem to be possible in Garmin Dive, nor will Garmin Connect honor dive data if one tries from there. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to generate something similar for dives?
my suggestions for overlaid data would be:
- Depth
- Bottom Time
- Total Time
- Gas used or mix of gasses
- Depth profile curve
- Dive Site
