Unable to pair DashCam Mini 2 on iOS

Hello!

I have an untypical (unable to find other mentions) problem while pairing iOS with DashCam Mini2 device. Android goes well.

The problem appears when I face final association wizard step. Drive app says I must select accessory from the list, but the list is empty. Please see screenshot (sorry for non-english UI, but I guess it describes the situation).

I have iPhone 10 with 14.7.1 software version (latest at the moment of the posting this).

I tried to:

update iOS
hardware reset the device
format an SD card
uninstall/install Drive app

But with no luck. The problem still persists. Did anyone face similar problem or maybe any ideas how to solve that? I actually cannot use the device at the moment. Support does not provide solution for now.

I'm having a similar problem. Although I can select the accessory in the modal pop-up, it does no more. The dialogue just hangs. Have reset everything. And the device is also added twice in my iOS Bluetooth connections

After contacting the support I managed to resolve the issue when you have blank accessories list. You need to remove as many old devices as you can. After cleaning up association list I got Dashcam visible. But now I have same issue as you do. When I select the Dashcam in accessory list, nothing happens.

Helpdesk says I need a device replacement. Well, ok, but they say they cannot help with this while I'm in Russia. Great.

I had no success while in chat. The only useful advices were given via email.

Response wasn't helpful. Have updated firmware. Removed BT connections and Drive app off phone. Rebooted + re-installed. Tried again.

Can select the device and seems to be acknowledged. Pop up disappears and am left with:

And sticks at this screen. It hasn't crashed because you can still click the 'Select an accessory' button (which just tells you that the device is already paired to something else).

I don't think this is unique. Quite a few reports on US-based sites with same problem being flagged up since Aug 2021.

I'm now at email support level also. Will see what comes of that.

No solutions (it's not even clear if replacing the Garmin unit works), but it's kind of nice to know that we're not alone. I'll keep pursuing Garmin support FWIW

Let's do it together. You can refer to my topic in a communication with the Helpdesk in order to state that the problem does not cover only your single device.

Same issue here. It pairs fine with my Android tablet, but my iPhone is a lost cause until this problem is fixed.

At the moment Garmin's latest response is to replace the camera. We'll see how that goes.
