Garmin Connect -> Garmin Diving Sync issue

Hi there, 

I uploaded a few dives via Garnin Connect Web and edited them on the website as needed (e.g. Change the name of the dive, add coordinates etc).

When I check Garmin connect on the phone I can see all the dives listed under activities including the names given to each dive.

Garmin Dive however onoy takes this data partially. While I can see all dives listed, many are missing the name I gave the activity (show default: Dive 23 etc,) and are missing other data such the coordinates entered.

Further, for those with missing data, when I select the dive under activities on the phone it will try and open the dive in Garmin Dive but throws an error message that something went wrong. I assume this is the case due to the data missmatch between the 2.

Is there a way to force Garmin Dive to fully resync all dives from connect?

    Can see the logs but not be able to edit. 

  • Here is an update on the issue. 

    After a lot of try and error I found out that the Garmin import fuction seems to have an issue with large data sets. 

    When I import more than 5-6 dives at the same time some of the data or sync between connect and dive seems to time out or the garmin DB simply messed up the import.

    Only solution I found:

    1) delete the affected dive in garmin dive

    2) re-import the dive (max 4 at a time) in connect web

    3) garmin dive will now sync these and you can edit the dive

    Simple way to figure out which dives are affected: try and edit the dive in garmin dive (you will get an error) or clicknon the dive in connect on your phone to open it up (garmin dive will open telling you the dive is not found)
