Two Devices in Garmin Connect

Hello,

along the day I use my Garmin Fenix 3 as fitness tracker and for any sport activities. Only - and really only - for soccer I want to use a Vivofit and record steps at this time. I know that only one device can be set as the active fitness tracker. it's not a problem to change the devices before activities. the problem is, that the device only sync its steps when they reached the steps in garmin connect. So, for example: I run 3000 steps with the Fenix 3 and they were successfully synced to connect. Now I change the activity tracker to the vivofit. This is not now starting at 3000 steps and continues at these. Instead it starts at 0 steps. When I'm now running 4000 steps with the vivofit and after that syncing this, there are no 7000 steps at Garmin Connect but 4000 steps.

Why does not the device, I'm changing to, starts at the 3000 steps that are in garmin connect till this time?

I'm an information scientist. It would not be a problem to develope some things to get to the solution. I already thought to get to the filesystem on the changing device and manually change the steps to the steps that are in Garmin Connect. So I could continue at the 3000 steps like in the example explained and start my soccer activity at 3000 steps.

I would be very glad to hear from You, and maybe get a good hint from to get my solution for this.

Thank you very much.
  • This has come up many times in the past. It's unknown if Garmin will ever do something about it.

For now, why don't you use your vivofit as your tracker and the Fenix for everything else related to activities?
