Hi Don
Please see posting #15 on this page
https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?314284-Confusing-modern-version/page2
I edited my posting because the "reply" option disappeared.

Question is can I clear my pc from all Garmin related software and start all over again?
Thanks
Lochi
• Reason there is no reply button is that that forum has been archived, please see the announcement in yellow at top of every page.

As to your question, exactly what software are you talking about? Most can be removed in Control Panel, Uninstall Programs if on Windows

Too much to repeat. You can read the other thread for that, but the summary is: I am on my second 910XT. I have on my pc the old Classic, the new Modern and Express. Between all of these I am unable to change the settings on my pc to read metric. Even when set on metric, it still reads miles.
so frustrating so frustrating
That's why I want to delete everything and start afresh. Windows 7, MS Office, IE default browser

Hello Lochi,

Just guessing here.

Connect Classic and Modern are web based so there is nothing to uninstall.

You might uninstall Express then install Chrome then restart your computer.

Then login to Classic with Chrome and change your setting to meters and open an existing ride and see if it is meters??

If it is meters then download and install a fresh copy of the latest Express.

Good Luck because it is always nice to have a little. :)

Thanx Don - for trying
I did all of the above, and more - still in miles
I'm going to give you a short break of about a week, before coming down onto you again. Going to Pretoria (South Africa) for several reasons, but while there I will visit NavWorld, the local Garmin representative, to ask for help.
Take care for now and enjoy your off-time :-)

Hey Don! I have good new for you: You are riddens of me!!
I called Philip Silvester at NavWorld [email protected] (South Africa) to arrange for an appointment so he can do it for me on my laptop. However, he did it right there on the phone and got it right. It boiled down to the fact that I had two devices and two accounts and those got mixed up.
Thanx again for your patience Don - appreciated. And kudos to Philip

Take care for now - until I bother you again for something else :-(
