Manually uploaded course not visible in Garmin Connect

Hi!

I have manually uploaded a .gpx course on my Edge 510 by putting it in the New files folder using USB cable. After a device restart course was added and everything worked fine. However, after syncing with Garmin Connect I don't have the course available in the courses menu (the activity I used the course on has synced correctly). Is it possible to upload a manually added course from this device to garmin connect or are courses only visible when you create them from activity or map through garmin connect?

Issues with Edge 1000 manual upload

    Dear all,

I have a problem when I manually upload a gpx file so I can import a planned course. The course is visible on my Edge 1000, but is not available on Garmin Connect. Anyone has an idea how I can sync both?

    Kind regards,

    Willem

I believe that it is no longer possible to upload courses to Garmin Connect directly. However, a work round seems to be uploading the gpx file as an activity and then creating a course from the activity - very clumsy but at least it seems to work for some people
  • How do I import a gpx file as an activity ?

Use the "Import" link (upper right side of page) in the "Activities" window

But before you import it you need to make sure that it is the right gpx format, as Garmin Connect is really picky. Use the Online converter to convert your gpx file to a gpx format that Garmin Connect will accept.
