Garmin Connect issues

Hi there,

I've had a 220 for several months now, but it has been frustrating me recently with ongoing issues.

1) Sending workouts from Calendar to device : this seems to work every fourth or fifth time. I don't have Express but the Connect website always seems to be looking for it.

2) Syncing in general - I have a queue of updates (Software / Heart rate zones etc) but they don't ever send (unlike the workouts which seem to go eventually). I've tried to upload a screenshot of this but the site won't let me. However a box appears saying "If Garmin Express doesn't open automatically, find the icon in your task bar or dock and open it.

If you don't have Garmin Express on this computer or need a newer version, download it now." - I didn't think I needed Express, is this right?

3) The GPS used to click in after about 30 seconds, its now taking 5 minutes or more sometimes

4) Bluetooth pairing with my Samsung S6 - needs to be paired constantly

Any help or advice welcome!

Stephen
  • 1) Why don't you have Garmin Express installed o_o I don't know how it would send calendar events the 1/5 times it is working without that.

    2) See point 1

    3) Clouds? Unless it's a device that has smart position updating via sync, in which case see point 1.

    4) No idea. Check the running forum maybe or contact support, it's not a GC issue.
  • Thanks for the response - I have a work PC and they don't allow us to install much in the way of non-work apps so that's why no Express, however I was led to believe I didn't need it?
  • By who / what?

I know some functions of the x20 series can run over mobile but syncing through your pc isn't one of them, it's like trying to sync your iPod without iTunes installed.

Possibly you can do a manual upload on the classic site but it's not going to sync all the info from 1), 2) and possibly 3) to your device.
