Garmin with "stop" option

I have just bought a satnav (not a Garmin) but I am not very happy with it. When I input a destination and press "drive" there is no option to "stop" so I can just go back to normal view. I have another satnav that I bought six years ago (a Garmin nuvi) and this option is on the front screen (a button with "stop" on it).
Also, in "My Favourites" in the Garmin, I can search for a location I have saved by typing in it's name; I can't do this in the one I just bought (I have to scroll down through the list). This is very unsatisfactory.
I am considering returning it and buying a Garmin again. But only if these options are present on it (along with the options to input longitude and latitude co-ordinates). Is there a particular Garmin model with these options on it?
