MacBook Pro restart every time to sync ANT+ USB and Garmin Forerunner 910XT

In order to sync data from my Garmin Forerunner 910XT to my MBP, I have to restart it each and every time. It doesn't recognize the USB ANT+ otherwise. I use that USB port for many other connections and there is never a problem. Thoughts?
