Quality of plots on Connect maps is terrible.

Why is there such a huge difference in quality of map plots (sorry if there is a more technical term) between Garmin and Strava.

This is side by screen capture of Garmin (left) and Strava (right). Garmin is missing lots of points. Same exact file. The total mileage between Garmin and Strava is also significantly different. Seems Garmin possibly truncates the file.

I would expect Garmin to be if not the same but better quality then strava.

I see the same. It is even the case between modern view and classic view in Garmin Connect. Modern view just doesn't show al the track points recorded, resulting in a less accurate view of the track.

I opened a support case with Garmin but the answer was to do a feature request, which I just don't understand because it used to be different.
