Garmin Connect - Calendar + Activities + Workouts

Hi there,

i was playing around with my new Garmin Device (Fenix 2) and the Connect features. I have created a couple of custom Workouts and i have added them to my calendar, during my training i select the workout i have created and everything works perfect, but after the Sync i see a new "custom" activity (with a weird name, i believe based on the GPS location) on my calendar together with my planned Workout...but the data (Heart Beat, Speed, etc.) in displayed in the "added" activity and not on my Calendar/Workout...

is it normal? If not what i am doing wrong (or what am i missing?)?

moreover i see data i did not required (such as the GPS maps), is there a way to disable it? (My workout is CrossFit type, so if i am running i am running in a 10/20meters square not more), Is there a way to disable sensors for a particular workout/activity? (i.e. the GPS)

Thank You!
  • When you create a scheduled workout that is used to run the activity on your watch which then creates an activity on connect with the name based upon your location derived from GPS - if GPS is off the name will be "untitled". It does not put the activity results into the scheduled workout - it would be nice if it somehow merged the two - and lots of people have asked for this but it doesn't and you are left with both the activity and the scheduled workout in your calendar.

If you are doing an indoor activity then turn GPS off - I don't have a Fenix but on the FR610 whilst it is acquiring satellites or through the settings menu you can turn off GPS I'm sure the Fenix has this option too. If you do that then you won't get a map.
