ANT not recognized with USB cable for the newest MacBook

I recently changed from MacBook Air, where the ANT was working fine in syncing with my Forerunner 910XT, but with the newest MacBook one has to use a cable to connect the ANT, and it is not being "found". Does anyone have a workaround to suggest? Thanks.
