Heart Rate Monitor tracking drops to 0 BPM

I have an active job and use the Vivosmart + Heart Rate Monitor combo to track calories burned during shifts. I keep running into issues where the heart rate tracking randomly stops for 1-2 hours at a time showing an active heart rate of 0 BPM, which is severely impacting the calorie burn calculations.

The monitor is not shifting, being bumped, moved, or losing contact with my skin. I could understand a few seconds or a minute here and there, but for it to drop for hours at a time then randomly start tracking again speaks to something more than user error. I have tried a number of work-arounds I've found on the internet but none have been successful.

Model: HRM1G-Heart Rate Monitor (it was bundled with the Vivosmart

I would rather not have to return the bundle and go with something else, but if there's no solution to my problem I won't really have a choice.
  • I just can't help but think you'd get more informed response in thevivosmart sub-forum where users that know the peculiarities of the vivosmart are. This sub-forum, is for troubleshooting issues with the Garmin Connect website.... AFAIK and IMO.

Why the original creators of this forum added this confusing category to the forum is anybodies guess, but I'm all for eliminating it and merging the post with the Garmin Connect category.
