Syncing issues with 810 - seeing red!

Will the sync issues ever be fixed? I have never been so frustrated syncing a device.
Garmin Express keeps stating that my device has been synced and yet I get the red banner stating there was an error syncing.
On some rare occasions it seems to sync, as if by magic, and takes me completely by surprise.
I have tried everything and still cant get a reliable sync to happen.
Can anyone help?

    I used to use Garmin Express, and it always synced my activities from my edge 500 with no issues. In fact between the time I connected it to my pc and then opened the browser to Garmin Connect, the activities were already synced and ready to view.
