Manual Upload

I can't seem to upload a file... I got the file from ridewithgps and downloaded both the .GPX and .TCX BOTH say, "an error occurred with your upload. please try again." Again, I am at a loss with GARMIN....

I was trying to upload this "activity" so I could then save it as a course....
  • Oh................................... I thought you were wanting to put it on Garmin Connect.

You want to put an activity back on your device or a course?

    Which device do you have?
  • I am trying to upload to GC... from RideWithGPS...

I am doing this IOT save it as a course.....

THEN if I ever get past that step I will upload it to my watch (in my signature) 920XT

But, as of now, I can't even upload it to GC.... aka can't get past step 1
  • Well as I said initially, you can't import a course to Garmin Connect. The file options you are getting from RidewithGPS for export are not an activity or history file. I don't know why, unless what you are selecting on ridewithgps is not an activity you uploaded from a garmin device. I can export my ride histories from ridewithgps. Maybe there are some legal issues in your neck of the woods that prevents them from giving you that option. Write and ask their support.

I don't know about the 920xt, but if you can connect it to the computer with the usb and browse the file system, you might can put the .gpx or .tcx file on it. If it is like my edge500 you place the file in the /garmin/newfiles folder on your device. Then disconnect it from your computer and turn it on. It may take a while for it to process the file, so you might have a longer startup time. Just be patient. If it accepts the file, then you will see it in your course listing. Might want to keep the file name to seven letters, many Garmin devices don't use long file names.
