Are you sure the file is an activity file? Garmin Connect only imports files that contain an activity. .tcx, .gpx and .fit files can contain other things.

Even if it is an activity, it may not contain the identifications and markers that GC wants to see. .gpx and .tcx files can be viewed with a simple text editor. So if you got a .gpx or .tcx that GC will import, then you can open both in the editor and compare side by side with the bad one. Maybe you can figure out what's different, missing, etc.

Anyway, I am trying to upload from RIDEWITHGPS... so I am pretty sure their files are legit! I've tried various didn't routes and as mentioned before, exported them as different file types...nothing works.

I just exported a ride from RideWithGPS to my computer then imported it to Garmin Connect (modern) with no issues. I used the ".TCX History" option on RideWithGPS.

The other options ".TCX Course" and ".GPX Track" will not import to Garmin Connect as they are not "activity" files that Garmin accepts.

So which type export from RideWithGPS are you trying to do? The file type really is not the definitive issue. It's what's in those files and what Garmin chooses to accept. The files are just containers. They can hold water, tea, coffee, kool-aid etc... Garmin just chooses to drink the water..... or is it kool-aid? <grin>

I only have 4 options when I click the export tab on ridewithgps.... TCX Course, GPX Track, GPX Route, and Cue sheet CSV File...

I think you must must have taken the export option from the page when you were viewing a course or segment then. You need to be sure you are on the page showing your actual activity before selecting the export function. And even then the .tcx history is the only one that will import to Garmin Connect. At least for me that's true.

Thank you so much for your time/effort, I still don't see anything called TCX History.

When looking at your "ride log" page, select "view" for the desired activity, then select the export function. For my rides, that always gives me the .tcx history option.

The view&export.jpg you uploaded shows you looking at something I loosely call a route, segment or course, there are slight differences between the terms. But this is not an actual activity or ride. Though it may be based on a ride you actually have on RidewithGPS.

And that is a ride that you uploaded to ridewithgps from your garmin device? Is it still on your Garmin device?
