Hello,
at the moment I am testing the Fenix 3.
My last GPS watch was the Polar V800, where I missed the Openwater Swim (in the meantime possible), some navigation features, and some other functions.
I am really satisfied with the watch (hardware) itself. I have very good GPS tracks, also compared with the excellent tracks of the V800, the design of the watch is awesome. The only thing i miss a little bit is the lack of more sport profiles (e.g. Beachvolleyball, Tennis, Soccer and so on). Polar has there an extreme wide range of different sports.
But the main things I miss in Garmin Connect are:
1. analyze the times in my HR Zones over all activities. I found these times on the watch itself but I didnt found any reports in Garmin Connect. I think this has to be a must have for every sports analysis software.
2. I can't analyze a part of an activity. In Polar Flow I was able to mark a part of my activity and then i got the most important data for these segment (and I do not want to make a segment therfore - which is extremely uncomfortable) and the part was also marked in the map!
3. when I mark a lap this is also displayed in the map and in all the relevant graphs. Unfortunately not available in Garmin Connect.
4. The recovery development is also missing in Garmin Connect.
5. configuration of apps, data fields mainly only on the watch itself. dont get me wrong - this is very good. but there should be also the possibility to do this online (much faster and a better overview)
What do you thint about these things? Is there any hope that these functions will be implemented?
At the moment I am torn apart between these two watches.
Polar V800 is a stable watch with in my opinion a better analysis software (maybe because I am used to) and more focused on everything regarding heart rate analysis (recovery time, orthostatic test, R-R analysis...)
Fenix 3 for me looks much better, is extremely configurable on the watch itself and is much better in navigation and has some nice add ons (competing against another exercise) and so on.
The decision will be not easy so any help is much appreciated.
