Is my microSD slot broken??

Hi all,

I have a nuvi1490, and a strong suspicion that the microSD slot is not working.

I have two microSD cards (8Gb and 32Gb) that are recognised by Windows when I put the cards directly into my laptop (using a microSD to SD adaptor). They both appear as a removeable drive in Windows.

However, when I put the cards into my nuvi, not only does the nuvi not recognise the card, but when I connect the nuvi to my laptop via USB, then the nuvi appears as a drive ("GARMIN") in Windows, but the SD card does not.

Having browsed other posts with SD card issues, it seems like most people at least get a second removable drive in Windows for the microSD when they connect their nuvi. I don't even get this.

Any ideas? Am I correct the microSD slot on my nuvi is probably broken?
