Windows Phone Compatibility

I don't know if I am alone in this, but I would really like to see Garmin Connect Mobile to be made compatible with Windows Phones. I'm not sure if it is licensing that has prevented this or what the reason may be for the mobile application to only be supported on iOS and Android.
If I need to choose between having a phone that supports my garmin connect devices or having devices which are already compatible with my choice of phone, I'm definitely going to stick with my phone and use devices that are already compatible with that.
I've inquired with customer support if there are any plans at the moment to pursue this opportunity and am currently awaiting their reply.
Does anybody else on the forum desire this compatibility?

Customer supports reply:
Currently, Garmin Connect Mobile is only available on iPhone and Android devices. I have not heard of specific plans to expand the support to Windows phones. You can check for updates to compatible devices by going to garmin.com/ble as it is updated frequently.
  • And a +1 here.

Windows 10 is to be released soon and I can understand that Windows Phone 8/8.1 may not be an appropriate target for development activity, but a commitment for an app for the upcoming Windows platform would be a welcome sign. Like many people, I have various ecosystems that I prefer for different roles. Being unable to easily bridge the gap between Windows and Garmin, particularly being unable to make best use of some of the Fenix 3 features when in the field is disappointing. With smart notifications and live tracking being big selling points of the current stock of high-end garmin devices, it would be nice to be able to use them.

    WinPhone compatible

I just got a Edge 510 and I put a question to Customer Service yesterday; before reading this thread today. I would also like to have Windows Phone compatibility with Garmin Connect (and also some sort of Garmin Express connection from Linux OS, Firefox, Chromium).
  • I understand that android and IOS have the largest marketshare, but Windows nowdays has 13M phones in my country (Italy) which is quote the same as IOS with 15M. It's a pitty they don't work with a cross platform or cover alzo the Windows one.

Dose anybody nave an official answer from Garmin?
