Lap swim tracking issue

I have had my Garmin vivoactive for a little over a month and cannot get it to track my *** stroke laps in either the 25 yard or 25 meter pool I swim in. Anyone else experience this issue? I've tried putting the watch on my other wrist, stopping and starting at each length but for *** stroke all I get is 0...Any ideas out there?

Since you focus on breaststroke I assume that front crawl is OK or do you only swim breaststroke,

I don't have the vivoactive but use the garmin swim which I assume uses similar accelerometer to the Vivo and generally tracks laps well. Do you have a strong push off at each end of the pool that seems to be a key trigger for me?

I have similar problem when swimming freestyle.
I swim non-stop 1300m in 50m pool. After swimming, I check on PC. The result of total distance is ~1800m.
Also I see the detail, I find out that the period of each 50m is incorrect.
Any 50m are only use ~17s. Though the result make me happy. Actually I always spend ~80s to finish 50m.
My watch is vivoactive.
Anyone have this problem?
