305 edge not syncing

hi folks this has probably been asked before ,
I recently purchased a used 305 edge my 1st garmin ,I was plotting routes and uploading them to the device and worked fine ,then last week tried to do new route and it won't upload to device keeps saying unable to sync ,
I've deleted and reinstalled garmin express and connect 3 times ,still the same ,I've done a refreshing my laptop,
I've done a factory reset on device ,purchased new data cable ,and still no joy ,I've even opened another account with a different email ,
I've run out of ideas now ,so hopefully someone on here might shed some light on this
When it's plugged in to the laptop it says it's connected,and device bleeps and says transfer complete but nothing on there
Help!!!!!!!
  • A little more detail on your plotting of routes might help. Were are you creating them? On Garmin Connect? If so it's likely a Garmin Express issue so I'd recommend you check in the Garmin Express sub-forum where actual Garmin reps seem to be monitoring and answering posts?

    I think the un-install/re-install of Garmin Express is futile at best.

    If you are using something else to create routes, then many edge devices require you to put the file in the /garmin/newfiles folder on the device. If it does not process the file during the next start up, then it was not a file that the device recognizes as a course. I don't know if the 305 uses that same file structure and methods though.
