I've had enough with Connect

I've been having many issues with Garmin Connect for months now - first there was a problem where it was not possible to edit a workout from modern interface, then a problem with uploading training plans to 610 (this is still not working for me), then whole connect site was super slow taking about 30 seconds to change from activities to calendar view and today I can not log on at all.

When I open connect.garmin.com I either get "Internal Server Error" or page telling me that "Garmin connect it temporary unavailable".

Adding insult to injury - status page (at connect.garmin.com/status) reports that everything is just fine.

I love my FR-610, but simply can not understand that Garmin is not capable of keeping one fairly simple online system up and running. Even more - that there seems to be no official Garmin reps on these forums? And in my experience - every time I contacted support (phone or email) I was given wrong information! Last time I complained about problems uploading training plans - I was told that FR-610 never supported that feature!

Terribly disappointed user here Garmin - I've had great experience with your FR-610, but your software, web site and support are appalling. Shame on you.

    I also have problems today. Can't sync or upload anything.
    I can't even register my newly purchase vivosmart and my 920xt is failing to do anything.

    Hopefully Garmin can solve this issue as soon as possible.

    Then you are the only one at the moment, because Garmin just updated Status page which now says that Connect is down ;)

    But seriously, I am happy that it works for you, but I am definitely not alone with these issues - problem with editing workouts, with uploading training plans with frequent downtime and wrong information from Garmin support staff have been widely reported on these forums. I will limit my experience to FR-610, but I have tried multiple computers, multiple browsers and OSes (Mac, Win 7, Win 8.1, Chrome, FireFox) and the only constant is my FR-610.

    Also - I would appreciate any help, if you could point to what other issues I should be looking at?

    As for other issues it's pretty difficult to diagnose remotely which is why advice tends to be to contact Support, which unfortunately doesn't appear to have helped you. You seem to have had various problems at different times. Hopefully when the site is back up again all will be well.

    Can you detail your problems to see if anyone here has encountered them and knows of a fix or workaround.

    I have a 610 (and mainly upload/download on Windows 7 with Chrome or IE) and experienced problems with exporting training schedule about a week ago which now seems to be fixed. I don't find express as reliable as communicator and I find it annoying that I can't use express to upload automatically to both connect and Training Centre. Having said all this I have used other providers (such as Suunto) and had equally frustrating but different experiences so the grass isn't always greener and I think the 610 is a superb device for running and not really bettered by the latest Garmin watches.

    There is already a thread about this under FR-610 subforum (this is the link to that thread: https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?242202-uploading-workouts-to-610-doesn-t-work ) couple of users are facing the same issue as me, so I will continue there?

    Which version of Express are you using? I've synced at least 10 activities from my FR 305 in the last week without any issues and I'm 3 Express versions behind.
  • In all fairness... connect's not that great even when it's up.

    0 distance activity? Not gonna show up on your time / calories / etc totals.
    Workout on the last day of your goal? Not gonna count toward your goals.
    "Repeating goals? what even are they...? I swear nobody would ever use that in a million years" - Garmin Connect UI designer
    "Edit an active goal? Surely you jest!" - Same UI designer.
    Export all your activities in full detail without doing it one at a time? Nope. Just nope.
    Compare stats to this time last period, eg compared to last week / month / year how am I doing? Let Garmin sing you the song of their people: nope nope nope nope nope nope nope.
    Also 5 software updates, all for the same time zone map? Why is more than one copy necessary?!
