I don't think Garmin has done anything except add the captcha's back. The fairly spam free period we had was due to a renewed effort of the few mods that care to delete the spam. So we need to continue to thank them for their efforts. I'm certain the spam is wearing them out.
The mods are being kept busy - that's for sure. Either that or the spammer took a break and was away on summer vacation. I'm sure the mods feel like they're spitting into the wind.
