Garmin Training Center / Garmin Connect

I know I am probably raking up very old ground here, but I have been out of action for a while and now I have come back to running I can't use GTC in the way I used to.
I have a half marathon training schedule on my Garmin Training Center, which foolishly I had deleted from my Forerunner 410. I can't see any way of getting the schedule/workouts (I have updated my calendar with new dates on GTC) out of GTC and into Garmin Connect. I have exported the workouts in various formats, but GC won't upload them.

I am scratching my head here and don't want to waste a ton of time on trying to do something that isn't possible!

Also synching Garmin Connect and Garmin Express is very hit and miss. On GC there is a more uptodate version of software but GE says it is up to date, but it clearly isn't!

Finding this all terribly frustrating. Garmin Training Center worked, I have no idea why they changed everything. Am seriously considering ditching the Garmin.

Is there anyone that can help?

  • I have not had a lot of luck getting workouts out of TC and in to GC. I have only just switched to using Garmin Connect with Express (when forced :( ) previously I had used Communicator with GC which was great because it uploaded my runs to both TC and GC. Why don't you re-upload the runs from TC to your 410 - you may have to temporarily uninstall express and reinstall ant agent to be able to do that but it will at least let you get the runs onto the 410.

Thanks JS Runner - I wasn't sure if that would work as so many people said it hadn't, but I deleted all trace of Garmin Express, reloaded Ant Agent and after about 6 attempts it did finally copy the workouts to the watch. HURRAH!! I have spent so much time on this. I really appreciate your help as I was considering either getting a really old Garmin or getting rid of Garmin altogether!

    Cheers

  • That's great to hear I'm glad it was helpful. I've been very frustrated with Garmin too at times - the watches are great but sometimes let down by poorly thought through software or software released before it is ready.
