why can't I design workouts with intervals less than 1 minute?

Trying to do this in Garmin Connect for my 220. What's wrong?
  • That's exactly the point and I don't think that it is design so much as poor quality control.

I ran into the same problem when trying to create a new work-out, same when I edit an existing workout. This used to work perfectly.
Let's hope they fix this quickly...

yeah this sucks garmin! also they removed the "EDIT" options for workouts in the 920xt watch (I used all the time in my 910xt) you NEED to go and joint with a PC to change 1 stupid number if you are doing progressive workouts. POLAR hang on there you will be my next watch for sure!

I'm not defending Connect. It could be poor design or poor quality control. The fact that it kicks out at error message when you're trying to use it just suggests to me that they actually designed it that way. So glad that I don't use Connect! So many issues and limitations and features that have been removed (think pace zone support). It's awful!

Just wanted to point out that it's best practice to use Intervals on the watch if you're actually doing intervals. Complex workouts have to be designed using Connect these days and that's where the limitations of Connect kill you. I use lots of different workouts (like a Mona) that need the complexity of workout builder and have sub 1 minute duration. Sucks that Connect is so poorly executed.

I just sent a note to Garmin as well (using the link posted above). The more people that hit them with emails, the better our chances they will get this fixed ASAP.

I'm having the same problem. It worked a couple of weeks ago and has now stopped. Pretty annoying.

Support are logging it with development

I've just spoken with Brandon on the support desk and he was very good. At first his back office team tried to tell him it was just the way it was designed and after he pointed out to them that while you can't have <60s it's quite happy to allow >60s and that the 220 allows intervals in increments of 5s they agreed to log it with the developers.

Sadly he didn't know of any workarounds but I've asked him to let me know if he comes across one. I'll re-post when they get in touch.

    Cheers

    Jon

(also pointed out that they might want to look at the support forums occasionally!)

I had the problem with Garmin Connect, as well. just started the last day or 2.
    Customer support says:

"I apologize for any confusion, but the feature was not deliberately removed. We are looking in to the issue and have added your account to the case."
  • +1 here. Just dropped a ticket on the provided link. Hope they sort it out ASAP!
