GPS share positions.

Hi everyone,

I logged in to this forum to ask a question; don't know if it's the correct forum thought. Maybe someone can help.

From time to time, me and some friends are doing some trekking and we are looking for a device allowing us to share position between us and track everyone's position in real time.

Every member of the group will have a device with the position of everyone in the group in real time and displayed on a map.

Is this possible?

Garmin has something like that, or did. I read about it over at this other forum........... http://forums.gpsreview.net/ Post a message there asking about it, I'm sure someone there remembers it. It was expensive though as your devices have to be transmitters as well as receivers.

Of course you should be able to do that with a cell phone, but of course you'd have to stay within range of a cell tower.
