Vivoactive reset itself - 10000+ steps on connect lost

Seems stupid but my vivoactive reset itself and then the 1000+ steps that were already on connect do not re-sync to the device when it syncs. Surely this should happen automatically. This stuffs up my calorie count on myfitnesspal as I went for a 40 minute run and instead of having had 22K steps on the day finish with just over 12K.
  • Make sure you are running the 2.90 FW and NOT the 2.80 FW. 2.80 is known to crash when you get the "fireworks" for making your goal. You need to use Garmin Express to update the FW - it does not come over Bluetooth.

I am using 2.9 and had the Vivoactive reboot and lose nearly all my steps. I noticed the watch face had set itself to default (from fuzzy time) before it crashed and rebooted. I have the device less than one week.

Try using a different watch face.

I have been using the BigTime watch face on 2.9 FW, my VA has been on 12 days straight without a reboot. It shows the fireworks when I reach my daily goal and I don't lose any steps.
  • I updated to 2.9 yesterday and it has not rebooted since, however, now it only displays imperial units even though every setting I can find tells it to be metric. Can I get Firmware 2.91 to fix that?
