Problem is I'm at home and I'm just far enough away from my phone that my vivoactive disconnects. Ok, that is fine. But then a couple seconds later it connects, and then it disconnects, and then it connects - keeps repeating until I move or do something. I'm just sitting there, obviously on the edge of connectivity. I shouldn't have to turn off Bluetooth.
What you should be doing is looking at the signal strength. If a connection is established, sure, keep it active while you can. But once the connection is lost, especially because of poor signal strength, don't re-connect until the unit is close to the phone again. A poor signal strength means the 2 devices have moved apart. Make them move back close together again before you try to re-connect. Doing this adds hysteresis to the unit and should avoid getting stuck in a cycle of connect/disconnect.
