Forerunner 10 connection to Nexus9

Hi all,
Apologies if I post in the incorrect forum.

My partner has a garmin forerunner 10 and I am trying to get to talk to my Nexus 9 tablet via the OTG lead. However whilst the setup reads an external pen drive/memory stick, the watch does nothing... Any idea or suggestions? We really don't want to leave the watch behind as it works fine otherwise.

I use the ES File explorer app to view external drives, however when the watch is plugged in it shows nothing.

Thanks in advance.

  • Might need to get an adapter to allow you to connect the garmin usb cable to your OTG lead. Not all usb cables are created equal. Garmin as well as other manufacturer's jumper two of the pins and also add a resistor to one pin. This allows the device to be able to determine the intention of the connection and how it should behave.

Why not just let it do everything? I don't know... that's just the way it is.

The forerunner forum would be your best bet for answers though as, IMO, many of the more informed regulars to the Garmin Connect Forum tend to stay in the sub-forum for their devices.
