Nothing worked today

I tried to upload my activities today, three days' worth. The local Garmin Connect display on my computer says the upload occurred, and the progress bar on the the watch (910XT) showed that data was uploaded. But there is no record of it on the Garmin Connect website. I also got a notification to do an update. I clicked for the update but the download did not occur. I tried a different browser, switching from Firefox to Safari, and the download did occur after a few repeated clicks. But it turned out no update was needed, as the version I have on my computer has been up to date. I've lost that data, since the watch was reset to null when watch sent the data somewhere - into the ether, I guess.
If you used Garmin Express on your computer to upload the data, then check in that forum for similar issues. If you use the mobile or phone app for uploads then there's a forum for that too.
