[Bug report] Modern interface - Profile picture not uploading

Hi,

I had trouble uploading my first profile picture using the modern interface. The picture would load, I would be able to resize it, but at the confirmation step I always get an error saying "The picutre could not be uploaded, please try again". I tried with both png and jpg versions of the same image, both under the 2Mb size limit. I tried with Chrome (both on OSX and Win8), Safari and Internet Explorer

I temporarily switched to the old interface and I could upload the same picture right away.

Although it sounds ridiculous, there are a number of features in Modern that can error out unless you have express running in the background. I found that out when trying to download a file from an activity.
