Workout setup advice please

Hi All,

I want to set up simple workout for hill climb exercise. I want the whole activity to be 30 minutes long but each run (going up) to be only 25 sec, so it will look like this: run 25 sec, stop, walk down to start point, rest, run 25 sec up the hill, stop, walk down and so on for 30 minutes. Any idea how to set it up in Workouts section on Garmin Connect (or Training Center) and upload to watch (FR610) so it will keep alerting me for 25 sec runs and stop activity after 30 minutes?

Thanks in advance,
  • Hi - depends whether you want a fixed length recovery period or not. Do you want run 25 secs (uphill) then say 65 secs recovery whilst you walk down to start point repeated up to 30 mins. In which case you would set up a step that repeats 20 times with run 25 sec then rest or recovery step of 65 secs. This should be pretty straightforward - if you are looking to have your rest/recovery step not to be a fixed time and limit the overall activity length to 30 mins I don't think that you can do that.

well, yes I was looking for recovery step not to be fixed as I assume it will be different (longer) after few runs. Anyway, thanks I might do fixed times and see how this will work for me
