Garmin Express does not support this device

I have just purchased a Garmin Edge 810 (without the Garmin maps though, I want to use the OpenStreetMaps) and now I want to add the device to Garmin Express, so I can send courses I made on Garmin Connect to the device.

Unfortunately, I am being told that Garmin Express does not support this device (?!). Does anyone know how come?

I am told to use Garmin Map Updater but when I do, there is nothing much I can do, except for go and buy maps on the website.

Does anyone know the solution to this? Many thanks!

    Hey,

Thanks for the reply, I use windows. I have solved the problem in the meantime. I re-installed Garmin Express (it may have been out-of-date) and registered my Edge via the website. And now it all works.

Small problem though: when I want to navigate somewhere and enter an address, the countries list seems to be empty (even though I now have maps of the whole of Europe on my SD card). Any thoughts?
  • This section of the forum is concerned with the Garmin Connect website. You'd get more people knowledgeable about your map issue in the edge 810 sub-forum. IMO there are a lot of knowledgeable regulars that won't venture to this section. And as previously suggested.... anything to do with Garmin Express or syncing your activities to Garmin Connect are better answered in the Garmin Express sub-forums.

My edge 500 does not use maps so I probably can't tell you in enough "edge" specific detail.
