Modern Connect? How to upload?

Where or how do you upload your runs into the Modern Connect? If I switch to the Classic Connect I just click on the upload button. Do I have to switch to the Classic all the time?
  • What device do you have? You can manually import files by going into Activities and clicking on Import.

Thanks SUSSAMB. I know I can import files but the Classic had the upload button. Just plug in Garmin 500, open Garmin Connect and click on upload activities and all new ones are imported. Am I safe to assume we can now only manually import workouts by only uploading files? If so it would be nice to have the upload button back. I like the Classic better than the Modern, it is easier to use. Thanks again.
  • The modern Garmin Connect website expects you to download and install Garmin Express to allow the activities to be automatically uploaded or "synced" as they now call it. I used Garmin Express for a while and it worked flawlessly with my edge500 to get activities to Garmin Connect as soon as I connected my device to the usb cable. In fact, they were uploaded to Garmin Connect and waiting for me by the time I got my browser opened to GC.

However I've uninstalled Garmin Express as it did not play well with my older Garmin devices. Garmin Express also forced an update to my edge500 without telling me. Also I've gotten tired of the hassle of the online fitness websites and prefer to keep my information privately on my own computer. Garmin Training Center though unsupported for years still works well for me. When it quits working with some future window or mac OSx update, I'll look at the other software options such as "Golden Cheetah".

Thanks for the info. I usually don't use Garmin Express, guess I will have to if I use the New Modern. Thanks again.
