Problems uploading Velodyssey routes files to Garmin Edge Touring

I've just acquired a Garmin Edge Touring with the main purpose of transferring the Velodyssey GPS route maps/files to it (see
http://www.velodyssey.com ). These seem to be GPX files and I've tried copying/uploading them to the 'New File' folder in the micro card ("No Name' on my Mac) but when detach and switch on the Touring the routes don't show under 'Courses' etc. Can anyone offer advice? Many thanks.

I am riding La Velodyssey in September and have planned route using the files from the official website. I haven't had a problem but I've used ridewithgps.com. I download the files to my PC then uploaded them to ridewithgps. I've reversed the routes as I'm going South to North and then split them into the days I'm planning. I've exported the files from ridewithgps as .tcx files and copied them to my Garmin Edge Touring OK. I haven't ridden them yet though.

As you posted this in May I'm guessing you've probably already done the ride.
