I was so excited to get my new vivoactive with heart rate monitor. However, I have had huge issues over the last 4 hours with this device. It initialized once after it charged, I added a new watch face and decided to go for a walk. I wore the heart rate monitor as instructed, went on a walk (since the instructions said I bought the device and heart rate monitor together, it was already paired) the heart rate monitor didn't work with the device. I tried to to get the sensor to identify with it and failed. I hope this isn't the way this device works. Any help would be appreciated. So how can I get the heart rate monitor to work, how can I get the device to initialize again and turn on and why isn't garmin connect working. I haven't tried to sync the information yet and hope that isn't an issue. I have a mac and am running garmin connect with chrome.
Hi Jayne, the HRM has to be worn, before the App is started. Then, after it´s startet, you´ll see the GPS, Bluetooth and HRM sign on top of the screen. Wait until GPS & the heart stops blinking and start your activity. If that doesn´t work, remove and pair the belt again.
How should chrome synchronize your data? You will have to install garmin express to synch data with your mac. Or just use your mobile phone with the garmin connect app. This works over bluetooth.
