Edge 1000 software update fails

I have tried to update the software on my Edge 1000 using Garmin Connect and I continue to get a message which says "There was an error installing the update". There isn't any other information to suggest how to resolve the issue. I have tried restarting the device, reconnecting, etc. Nothing seems to work. I am running firmware version 2.50.

Also, I add my wifi network but it doesn't save. I have to re-enter the account info and WIFI password every time. Perhaps this is related to the out of date software?

Any suggestions?

Garmin Express is what updates the software on your device. Garmin Connect is just a website. There is a sub-forum just for Garmin Express where actual Garmin reps are answering posts.
