Export to google earth - all coordinates in track are the same

Hi,

When I export a KML file from a Garmin connect activity page, via 'More...' (i.e. the cog icon) -> 'Export to Google Earth', all the coordinates in the KML are the same, such that on Google Earth all I see is one point. The track shown in the map on the activity page is correct though.

This is the page: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/763648136

- my first test activity with my new fenix 3

Any idea what I'm doing wrong please, or if this is a bug?

Thanks,

Matthew
  • This was reported on this forum in March. The problem was relayed to Garmin support. See workaround below.

I noticed this too. The last successful import into Google Earth was on March 10. All activities from March 11 on do not have a track after exporting to Google Earth.
I have a workaround that I've been using until Garmin can fix this:

    • Export the activity as GPX
    • Open the GPX file with TCX Converter
    • Save the GPX file as a KML file
    • Open the new KML file in Google Earth

Great, thanks for the quick reply. I searched the forum before posting but obviously not thoroughly enough.

I have the same problem, and get the same result with the "classic" interface.

So is there a question? Did the work-around as mentioned in the second post not work for you??
