Assign initial mileage to gear

Could we please be allowed to assign an initial mileage to each gears?

what I did (as gear is a new feature), is just set the max mileage to what's left on the shoes... I have one pair with less than 25 miles as the max for example.

This would be a good option. Currently some can import older activities and add shoes to them.

Hi there:

wouldn't it make sense to include in the gear data the initial mileage of stuff that has been in use for a while before Garmin managed to get this working??

I still have to use RunningAhead to do this.

I was just about to post on this. There is no point on being able to add 'already in use' running shoes unless you can input the existing milage. I am rotating 4 pairs of trainers for different conditions, most have 100+ miles and their milage has been logged from day 1 on Strava. The new great widget is not worth using for existing running shoes without this functionality, so Garmin please add an input starting milage option and it will then be a useful app.

This is what I did. And I really don't understand this request to be honest...it's a nice feature to have but once I rotate out my initial pair(s) of shoes I'd never use this feature again.

For my bike I'll need it as I do't change it as often as my shoes. Altough tempting idea tough :-)

I would like initial milage too.

Yeah you could wait until you get new shoes but why should you?!

Please add a field in gear tracker so that when setting up a bike for example, the number of miles already ridden on that bike can recorded. All subsequent miles should be added to this initial total to keep an accurate record of total miles ridden. Thanks.

I ran into this problem when I was importing my data from MapMyRun. It would definitely be a helpful addition!

Thank you for the help! I didn't know about that form. I just submitted the idea! I am sure they have thought of it before and there is a good reason for not having it but who knows!
