Sleep

Hi,

The Garmin Connect app has automatically upgraded on my iPhone today. Since the upgrade, the ability to manually enter sleep has disappeared. This has never been available on the desktop version. Why? This is very frustrating.

It makes Garmin Connect a poor health monitor, in much the same way as I'm not able to manually enter body fat% from my Tanika scales (because I have the non-bluetooth scales).

Please give us the software usability/interactivity that people have been requesting for years, otherwise people really will use other software and apps. Since the change to Connect modern the only reason I go onto the website is to look at sleep and weight. If you lose both of these, then there really is nothing to recommend you over Strava.

Please respond to this message as I have previously posted with no response.

Thanks
  • I presume you mean the iOS app because in Android the option is still there. It is also possible to edit sleep using the pencil edit icon on the Connect web site.

    I do mean the iOS.
Also I can't see any pencil icon on Sleep reports or any other part of the website/app where sleep appears.
Where can I enter sleep data manually?

    Thanks
  • The dashboard sleep widget gives you the opportunity to edit sleep times. However it doesn't allow you to edit naps. A nap has to be invoked by entering and then exiting sleep mode.

The iOS app only has Weight, activities and myfitnesspal as options for the dashboard
The website dashboard only allows me to load "Sleep reports" but not a specific sleep widget. The sleep reports widget doesn't have a pencil icon anywhere. Where is the option to add a sleep widget located?
    Thanks
  • The first icon on the left - 3 horizontal lines opens to show the widgets that are available. Sleep is the 5th widget from the bottom - just above steps.

The 5th one up is reports (between personal records and segments). There isn't one for steps or sleep??
  • That seems weird. This is mine.

Could Connect be thinking you have a different device?

Does that only come up when you have a vivofit connected?
I have exactly that list apart from Steps & Sleep missing.
I have been entering manually using the app on my iPhone and never owned a vivofit.
  • In my account, i have a vivosmart and a forerunner set up as devices. They aren't actually connected except when I sync but the vivosmart device widget is added to my dashboard. On a different dashboard, I have my Forerunner and it also gives me the option to add steps and sleep widgets even though it doesn't track them.

Try this: Log out of Connect on the web and then log back in. I wonder if that will reset something.
