evevation missing from .gpx file exported from Connect?

Hi There,

Is anyone else having an issue with missing elevation when exporting .gpx files from garmin Connect?
my unit (FR310XT) tracks and displays elevation.
when Syncing device with Connect using Express, elevation is present in the dataset. see screenshot.

https://forums.garmin.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=25301&stc=1&d=1428799763

but when exporting the activity to. gpx (or .tcx or .kml), there is no "<ele></ele>" tag in the file?

the track point in the files now look like this:
<trkpt lon="128.71323516592383" lat="35.1833479385823">
<time>2015-04-11T01:20:59.000Z</time>
<extensions>
<gpxtpx:TrackPointExtension>
<gpxtpx:hr>130</gpxtpx:hr>
</gpxtpx:TrackPointExtension>
</extensions>
</trkpt>

Previously - they looked like this:
<trkpt lon="128.60553567297757" lat="35.219658175483346">
<ele>19.600000381469727</ele>
<time>2014-09-19T05:01:39.000Z</time>
<extensions>
<gpxtpx:TrackPointExtension>
<gpxtpx:hr>79</gpxtpx:hr>
</gpxtpx:TrackPointExtension>
</extensions>
</trkpt>

This of course means elevation can not be viewed in other communities e.g. Endomondo.
It resembles deliberate tactics from Garmin??!!??

best regards
/Philip

    I started having the same problem. It worked on a file I exported Jan 1, 2015, but not one I did April 30, 2015.

    No elevation object &lt;ele&gt;&lt;/ele&gt; in GPX export file

    I have the same problem with my Edge 800 and Garmin Connect export file , there is no elevation object <ele>xxxxx</ele> in the export GPX, TCX or KML file ! :mad:
    Hope Garmin will do something quickly !
    In fact, I've try to export directly from BaseCamp V4.3.4 GPX I have imported directly from my device and from there it works all infos are present !
  • Same here, no elevation in exported GPX files for activities younger than march 19th.
    Using a 920XT.
  • I've been using MXactivity mover to copy over to Suunto's Movescount (I prefer Movescount as you can get full screen on map view)

    But no elevation data was being copied across.
    Spoke to the developer which confirmed Garmin Connect is not releasing / providing this information.

    So I'd same it's the same issue.

    Same problem here. Exported GPX files have no elevation data. It's been so for the last couple of months, so hope this is solved soon.

    Same issue with garmin Edge 1000. I found that if I directly pull from the device I get elevation. My example is using the Garmin Verb Edit SW. GPX from Connect no elevation. Directly from device I have elevation data.

    Me too. No elevation data in my exported GPX file. I just noticed this for the first time and then went and checked my old files to see when the elevation data stopped showing up in my GPX files. The last time was in February 2015 for me. Then all my files from then to now have no elevation data in the GPX files. What gives?? From my quick googling, it seems like a problem a lot of us have and no fix or response so far from Garmin. :mad:
