Forerunner 310XT Express sync does not upload data to Connect

Hi I have just changed laptop and have a Forerunner 310xt. I have installed Garmin Express and configured it to use the same account as before. When I sync my device Express says Synced Today @ [time] but no data appears on Garmin Connect. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing but with no success.

    Same issue. No data on local computer, either (c:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\GarminConnect\....) but documentation says it won't be there unless upload to Connect was successful. (That's quite curious, but that is what the documentation from Garmin says...)

    Made a new short activity on the 310, saved it, and then brought the 310 close to the computer with ANT stick plugged in. Express opened and (after a brief moment) said sync was complete. But no data in my account on Connect.
    Whassup??

    Also, can't seem to load history data from the 310xt, only "new" data activates the syncing. Is there some way to capture all the history data on the 310? Maybe a registry hack?

    All suggestions welcomed.
