Steps, Heart Rate Monitor disconnecting, and activities not registering

I've had my Garmin Vivofit for about 5 months now, and up until mid January, it was working fairly well, but within the last week or so the steps are taking 5 or 6 syncs to register, the Heart Rate Monitor stops working several times during my workout, and sometimes doesn't even register the little activity that the HRM is on and supposedly recording for. This is extremely frustrating! I don't understand why it's not working properly all of a sudden. The battery is supposed to be good for a year, is it not?

Please help!!!

    I lost all my workout data, but steps are there. Why is my heart rate monitor turning off by itself and not syncing any data. I changed battery in heart rate monitor last week. I've had it since Xmas.

    Same here. I've had the Garmin HRM for 5 weeks, then mid-workout yesterday the device lost pairing. It would not pair back. I even changed the battery - still will not pair. I am contemplating returning it.

    Worst piece of fitness kit I ever owned

    Me too..... I got a new vivofit with Garmin HRM bundle a couple of weeks ago. The HRM disconnects and doesn't reconnect during exercise, or when just wearing it to test it. As new, it shouldn't be the battery!

    I also had a problem with the dashboard on my smartphone recording HRM. It did display originally and then it stopped. I've been on to Garmin support which is absolutely diabolical - very polite but useless. All they do is tell me how to enable a widget. I keep responding that the widget has disappeared even off the options list, so (after several days) they send me back a stock answer of how to enable the widget that isn't there. It's like Groundhog day!

    I had a fitbit before and wish I'd stuck with it, more intuitive, easier to set up, less clunky. I was about to buy a Garmin 1000 GPS cycle computer, but given the experiences I've had with the vivofit I think I'll be buying something else....... not a happy customer.
