how to export from Garmin Connect to BaseCamp

I want to Export a ride from Connect to BaseCamp, preferably a GPX file. I see no EXPORT in activities or connect Modern or Classic?? I do see an export to CSV option. I guess that after an hour of looking for how to do this I am entitled to say that as a Very Long time (Garmin III) owner Garmin offers the worst possible mapping/logging software possible!!!! The software is consistently clumsy, outdated, non intuitive and just plain awful!!! This from a company that I feel makes the very best GPS hardware. This has been the case since the since my first GPS to the Edge 800 that I have. It really is time to fire the software group and hire from Google mapping.
  • Open one of your activities that you want to export.
Click the small gear icon near the top right corner.
    Select "Export to GPX."
  • Note also that the 'gear icon' is being used by various companies these days to provide options of one sort or another, and it's used throughout Connect Modern, always worth clicking on them to establish what they do :)

So that works for individual workouts. But I mean, c'mon why can't we import data to Basecamp directly? Why do we have to run around exporting to .gpx and then importing from our computer? More so, why isn't there an option for mass export from Garmin connect?

As more and more GPS units become available from competing companies, the best hardware and devices aren't going to be enough if the software they run on and the data logging is ridiculously flawed at best.
