Vivosmart recording heart rate no display in Garmin connect

I use my vivosmart in conjunction with a Garmin heart rate monitor.
The HRM is picked up by the vivosmart and shown in real time but I can't see how the data is recorded on Garmin Connect.

Can anyone tell me how to access the data?

You must start a "Fitness Activity" for your VivoSmart to record heart rate. See your user manual for details on starting and ending Fitness Activities.

Vivosmart -- Heart Monitor info not displayng in Garmin Connect

I have the Vivosmart and have problems getting the heart monitor to show in Garmin Connect.

I have gone into Device settings and changed Display settings and I still do not have the heart monitor information showing up in Vivosmart. I have tried plugging into the computer and the mobile app on my phone.

Garmin Connect does not show a screen/page for heart monitor information.

How do I resolve this issue?

I have used Polar Heart Monitors for cycling and running for decades and never had a problem. The Garmin has been problematic since the first day.
