Android or iOs?

I am getting ready to buy a vivofit and also am due for a phone upgrade. I am deciding between Galaxy5 and iPhone 6. Does one work better with Garmin than the other? This isnt the only factor but I am returning the mio fuse because of the awful app so it is an important consideration. Thanks for any thoughts or advice you might be able to offer.
  • Get the iPhone so my stock will go up.
  • There is only one protocol for iOS and multiple possibilities for Android so you're more likely to avoid issues with the iPhone. That being said, the Galaxy 5 is about as industry standard that there is so it is likely to be fine also. My understanding is that the Galaxy 6 is coming out tomorrow so there's another way to complicate your decision.

    Phil,
thanks, I was thinking that once the Galaxy 6 comes out, I could get the Galaxy 5 cheap. I always thought the iPhone was the trouble free way to go, but, for me, it has not worked with the Mio at all. If i can return the Mio and get my $ back, I think I have pretty much decided to go with the vivoactive and the galaxy 5 as a reasonably economical way to go.
  • If you look through the forums you'll find that Android seems to struggle with Bluetooth connectivity more than IOS particularly with reconnecting if the link drops for any reason. Can't think of any other differentiator though.
  • One question you should ask yourself is which OS are you more competent with? Despite my quip about making my apple stock go up, I use an Android smartphone.

If you want to talk economical, my phone was $79 and I bought my vivosmart bnib off kijiji.
