Garmin Connect broken… again

Hello,

although the status page lists GC as operational, I cannot view any page, including the Dashboard. Tested with different web browsers through different connections.

I get the following messages in the Safari console:
[Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden) connect.garmin.com/.../<uid>
[Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error) connect.garmin.com/.../<uid>
[Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) https://connect.garmin.com/modern/main/js/jquery.min.map

Btw, it seems that GC is using https now.
  • Problem is solved :) Happy to have my account with history back! Thanx guys!
  • Garmin Connect mobile ios app crashes after pairing my new Fenix3
I've tried to delete and reinstall the app several times but once the F3 is paired, it's impossible to launch again the app on iPhone
  • I've been double checking wether the Garmin connect app runs on iOS devices, such as IPad Air, iPhone 5, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+ or not and I've found out that the app doesn't work on jailbroken devices.

The app crashes just after pairing the devices or simply trying to skip the pairing step in order to run the app.

Does anyone know how to bypass the jailbreak detection?

I've tried with xCon and Flex 2 cydia tweaks without success.

I've been having this problem for weeks (and I also made the mistake of deleting/reinstalling the iOS app which also stopped working) but have finally figured out a fix - for me at least.

The 500/403 errors are being caused by your display name being passed as a parameter in the calls. If your display name includes spaces, these encoded to %20 but are not decoded on the other end, resulting in your display name not matching the correct value. To fix simply change your display name to something that doesn't contain spaces (Notice how my screen name is no longer Rob F).
You can do that here: https://connect.garmin.com/settings/userprofile

    Hey Vic_77,

Have you resolved your issue with the app immediately closing on your jailbroken iPhone? It's happening to me right now with my new Fenix 3 on iOS 8.3.. The funny thing is that I never had this issue with my Forerunner 920XT on jailbroken 8.1.2. This is the first time this problem has come up. Do you know if it's an issue with just the Fenix 3? Bothering the heck outta me that I can't sync with my phone, have to do everything through Garmin Express on my computer.

Has anyone else noticed this issue with the app immediately crashing upon launch on a jailbroken iPhone?

I just updated to iOS 8.4 on my jailbroken phone from 8.1.2 and I am also experiencing your same issue. I have discovered that if you run in safe mode the connect app works correctly. All ideas?
  • I have a similar problem in Chrome on Android - I can't view Connect modern but classic is OK - both work fine on my pc on Chrome or IE - has anyone else got a current problem with Chrome on Android?

I've finally found the solution to my problem by trial and error
The cydia tweak "Action Menu" crashes the Garmin Connect app.

After removing the tweak, the app runs smoothly
